TOP 25 WOMEN: Unranked Irish fight way past No. 17 Cardinals

Charel Allen scored 21 points and Notre Dame used a big run late in the second half to overcome a 12-point deficit and beat No. 17 Louisville 64-55 Wednesday night in South Bend, Ind.

The Irish trailed 48-43 after Chauntise Wright scored inside with 9:30 left. But Allen hit a shot from 17 feet then found Tulyah Gaines to trigger a decisive 16-0 run. Allen scored eight points during the burst.

Angel McCoughtry scored 19 points in the first half to lead the Cardinals (21-3, 7-3 Big East), but she was held to just 10 points in the second half.

The Irish (15-8, 6-4) improved to 12-1 at home this season.

(15) Baylor 80, Texas Tech 67: At Lubbock, Texas, Jhasmin Player scored a career-high 22 points to lead the Lady Bears (20-4, 7-3 Big 12) past the Lady Raiders (14-10, 5-5).

(16) Texas A&M 69, Missouri 63: At Columbia, Mo., Takia Starks scored 21 points and the Aggies (18-4, 8-2 Big 12) held off the Tigers (14-9, 2-8).

(18) Bowling Green 86, Ball State 76: At Bowling Green, Ohio, Amber Flynn had 18 points and eight rebounds, Kate Achter added 18 points and the Falcons (21-2, 10-0 Mid-American) defeated the Cardinals (17-4, 8-2).

(19) Middle Tennessee State 83, Louisiana-Monroe 70: At Monroe, La., Amber Holt scored 25 points as the Blue Raiders (22-3, 14-0 Sun Belt) shot 59.6 percent from the field in a win over the Warhawks (14-10, 4-9).

(21) Nebraska 62, Kansas State 55: At Manhattan, Kan., Kiera Hardy scored 13 points to lead the Cornhuskers (19-4, 8-2 Big 12) to a victory over the Wildcats (15-8, 3-6).
