Hapless Flyers romp past Red Wings
Peter Forsberg showed why Philadelphia wants to keep him and so many other teams want to trade for him.
Forsberg scored the go-ahead goal in the third period and sparked the Flyers to a 6-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Monday in Philadelphia.
On a night when former team captain Keith Primeau was honored in an emotional pregame ceremony, it was like old times at the Wachovia Center. The NHL-worst Flyers scored two short-handed goals and one on the power play to win their second straight at home after losing a team-record 13 straight there.
Michael Leighton stopped 31 shots in goal for the Flyers and R.J. Umberger scored twice.

Stars acquire Nagy
Phoenix Coyotes leading scorer Ladislav Nagy was traded to the Dallas Stars for left wing Mathias Tjarnqvist and a first-round draft pick in June.
Nagy had 41 points (eight goals, 33 assists) in 55 games for Phoenix.
Senators’ Emery suspended
Ottawa goalie Ray Emery was suspended for three games by the NHL for slashing Montreal forward Maxim Lapierre.
Emery swung his stick and hit Lapierre in the face during the second period of the Senators’ 5-3 win Saturday night over the Canadiens. Emery got a minor penalty on the play. Lapierre, who was wearing a visor, was not hurt.

Washington Capitals goaltender Olie Kolzig hurt his knee during a drill at practice and will miss at least three weeks. The Capitals also signed enforcer Donald Brashear to a one-year, $1.1 million contract extension. … Vancouver Canucks defenseman Lukas Krajicek is ready to return from a concussion after missing two games.
