Contest looks for Best Teen Chef
Aspiring chefs graduating from high school in 2007 might well want to enter the Best Teen Chef 2007 competition of the Art Institutes International Minnesota. The winner gets a full-tuition scholarship (worth about $35,000) to study culinary arts at the Art Institutes; more than $200,000 in scholarships will be awarded in all.
Winners in The Art Institutes Best Teen Chef Scholarship Competition also have made national television appearances on the “Today Show” and the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” as well as CNN and “Fox & Friends” after winning the prestigious title Best Teen Chef.
Twenty local competitions will take place in March at Art Institutes nationwide, and a cook-off for the 20 finalists will be held in May. Competitors will be judged by panels of professional chefs and faculty members. Deadline to enter is Feb. 9. Send for details at www.artinstitutes.edu/btc or call admissions at (800) 777-3643.
