People: Kids? For Moore, the merrier

From Wire Reports The Spokesman-Review

Demi Moore says she was as surprised as anyone when she began dating Ashton Kutcher more than three years ago.

“If somebody would have said, ‘OK, here is the prediction: You’re going to meet a man 25 years old, and he’s going to see being with you and having your three kids as a bonus,’ I would have said, ‘Keep dreaming,’ ” the 44-year-old actress tells Vanity Fair magazine.

“I think it caught us both by surprise, and particularly him,” Moore says of Kutcher, now 28. “He was in this real rise of his career just as we met, which for a young man is prime opportunity for heavy-duty play.”

The couple were married in September 2005. Moore has three daughters from her marriage to Bruce Willis, which ended in 2000.

Any more children in the future?

“Most definitely,” Moore says. “Once you hit three, when you’re outnumbered, it’s really, like, what’s the difference between (three or) four or five? For me, the most important thing that I’ve contributed is my children.”

Pretty fertile woman

Oscar winner Julia Roberts is expecting her third child with her husband, cinematographer Danny Moder.

The baby is due this summer. Roberts, 39, and Moder, 37, who were married in 2002, have 2-year-old twins, Hazel and Phinnaeus.

No Ricky or Bobby?

It’s a boy, again, for Will Ferrell and his wife.

Mattias Ferrell was born just after 2 a.m. on Dec. 30, the actor’s publicist said Tuesday.

Ferrell, 39, and Viveca Paulin were married in 2000. They have a 2-year-old son, Magnus.

Ringing in the new year

Meanwhile, on the celebrity matrimony beat, comedian Jay Mohr exchanged wedding vows with “Las Vegas” actress Nikki Cox over the holiday weekend.

But a spokesman for Kate Moss is denying reports that the British supermodel and her drug-challenged boyfriend, rocker Pete Doherty, tied the knot in a candlelit Buddhist ceremony in Thailand on New Year’s Day.

She’s out of the picture

Police were called to the country estate of former Beatle Paul McCartney after his estranged wife reported the theft of paintings – including a Picasso and a Renoir – from the lodge they once shared.

But it turned out that McCartney had taken the paintings and reprogrammed the estate’s alarm codes, and later informed Heather Mills McCartney by text message.

New year, same old story

Britney Spears, who finished 2006 with a flurry of party-girl antics, fell asleep in a Las Vegas nightclub early Monday shortly after leading the New Year’s Eve countdown.

“She was not drunk,” her manager insists, denying Web reports that Spears collapsed and was carried out by bodyguards. “She was just tired and falling asleep.”
