New cookbooks offer health-conscious recipes
While perusing the new batch of health-conscious books with recipes, we noticed a welcome uptick in the number of dishes we would like to try and probably would make again.
Each of these books had at least one or two that beckoned:
“Cod with Peppers and Onions and Arugula and Cherry Tomatoes With Warm Hazelnut Dressing, from “The Wine and Food Lover’s Diet” by Phillip Tirman (Chronicle, 2007, $24.95).
“Honey Nut Spread and Shaved Fennel with Oranges and Pomegranates, from “The Sonoma Diet Cookbook” by Connie Guttersen (Meredith Books, 2007, $24.95).
“Polenta with Spicy Eggplant and Warm Chicken and Apple Salad from “The Supermarket Diet Cookbook” by Janis Jibrin and Susan Westmoreland (Hearst/Sterling, 2007, $19.95).
