ITop 25: llinois-Chicago shocks No. 12 Butler

Josh Mayo scored 19 points and hit a big 3-pointer in overtime Wednesday night to lead the University of Illinois-Chicago Flames to a wild 73-67 victory over No. 12 Butler at Chicago.

A.J. Graves scored a season-high 31 points for Butler (14-2, 3-1 Horizon League), but it wasn’t enough to hold off the Flames.

UIC guard T.J. Gray scored 13 points for the Flames (8-9, 3-1), who beat a ranked team for just the second time in school history.

(1) North Carolina 79, Virginia 69: At Chapel Hill, N.C., Tyler Hansbrough had 18 points and the Tar Heels (15-1, 2-0 ACC) overcame a slow start to beat the Cavaliers (9-5, 1-1).

(6) Kansas 87, (9) Oklahoma State 57: At Lawrence, Kan., Brandon Rush scored 18 points, leading the Jayhawks (14-2, 1-0 Big 12) to a victory over the Cowboys (15-2, 1-1).

(7) Pittsburgh 59, DePaul 49: At Rosemont, Ill., Aaron Gray scored 18 points and had seven rebounds to lead the Panthers (15-2, 3-0 Big East) to a win over the Blue Demons (10-7, 1-2).

Georgia Tech 74, (11) Duke 63: At Atlanta, Ra’Sean Dickey scored a season-high 21 points and the Yellow Jackets (12-4, 1-2 ACC) held on for a rare win over the Blue Devils (13-3, 0-2).

Vanderbilt 82, (16) Tennessee 81: At Nashville, Tenn., Shan Foster scored on a putback as time expired, and the Commodores (11-5, 1-1 SEC) snapped the Volunteers’ (13-3, 1-1) nine-game winning streak.

Marquette 73, (24) Connecticut 69: At Storrs, Conn., Ousman Barro had 17 points and 13 rebounds and the Golden Eagles (14-4, 1-2 Big East) used a 16-2 second-half run to beat the Huskies (12-3, 1-2).

(25) Texas 88, Missouri 68: At Austin, Texas, Kevin Durant scored 34 points and the Longhorns (12-3, 2-0 Big 12) ran their winning streak over the Tigers (11-4, 0-2) to nine.

(1) Maryland 111, Miami 53: At Coral Gables, Fla., Jade Perry had 19 points and 14 rebounds to help the Terrapins (18-0, 2-0 ACC) defeat the Hurricanes (9-9, 0-3).

(3) Duke 83, Georgia Tech 51: At Durham, N.C., Abby Waner finished with a career-high 27 points and the Blue Devils (17-0, 3-0 ACC) beat the Yellow Jackets (10-6, 1-2).

(8) Oklahoma 76, (9) Baylor 63: At Waco, Texas, Courtney Paris scored 21 of her 32 points after halftime as the Sooners (13-1, 3-0 Big 12) beat the Bears (15-2, 2-1).

(18) Bowling Green 75, Kent State 52: At Bowling Green, Ohio, Liz Honegger had 17 points and 10 rebounds as the Falcons (13-2, 2-0 MAC) beat the Golden Flashes (6-8, 2-1).

(19) Texas A&M 49, Texas Tech 47: At Lubbock, Texas, Morenike Atunrase hit a jumper with 1:04 left to give the Aggies (10-3, 1-1 Big 12) a victory over the Red Raiders (10-6, 1-2).

(23) Texas 79, Missouri 77 (OT): At Columbia, Mo., Earnesia Williams made two free throws with 5 seconds left in overtime to give the Longhorns (12-4, 1-1 Big 12) a win over the Tigers (13-3, 1-2).
