Aggressive driving campaign launched

BOISE – Law-enforcement agencies and the Idaho Transportation Department have started a campaign to discourage aggressive driving.

The campaign that began Sunday is aimed at stopping people who drive too fast, follow too closely, fail to yield the right of way, run stop signs and ignore traffic signals, said Margaret Goertz, aggressive driving program coordinator with ITD’s Office of Highway Operations and Safety.

Idaho law enforcement agencies did a similar campaign June 10-23.

Seat belt laws will be enforced during the campaign, Goertz said.
