Thursday’s NL results
Nationals 11, Dodgers 4: At Washington, Ryan Zimmerman drove in four runs, Dmitri Young had four hits and Washington broke out of its hitting slump in a win over Los Angeles. Micah Bowie got the win, giving up three runs in 5 1/3 innings.
Mets 4, Giants 2: At New York, Orlando Hernandez gave up two quick hits and little else over seven impressive innings, and New York beat San Francisco for its fifth win in six games. Jose Reyes energized the Mets with a leadoff walk, his major league-leading 29th steal and an RBI single.
Brewers 4, Marlins 3: At Milwaukee, Prince Fielder hit his league-leading 19th homer, J.J. Hardy drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth and Milwaukee beat Florida. Corey Hart doubled with two outs in the eighth and Hardy followed with a single off Matt Lindstrom for his team-leading 46th RBI.
Astros 10, Reds 2: At Houston, Lance Berkman ended a slump with a three-run homer and Woody Williams had a season-high nine strikeouts as Houston snapped a 10-game losing streak with a win over Cincinnati. Carlos Lee had a two-run double during a four-run third inning off Bronson Arroyo as the Astros won for the second time in 14 games.
Padres 4, Pirates 2 (11): At Pittsburgh, Mike Cameron hit a go-ahead homer in the 11th inning after tying it with a run-scoring double in the ninth, and San Diego overcame a disputed call taking away a home run in a win over Pittsburgh.
Cardinals 7, Rockies 3: At Denver, Juan Encarnacion hit a two-out, three-run double in the sixth and Brad Thompson allowed two runs in 7 1/3 innings to help St. Louis beat Colorado. Gary Bennett added three hits for the Cardinals.
