Braves 3-1, Marlins 1-5: At Atlanta, Buddy Carlyle pitched one-hit ball over seven innings to carry the Braves past Florida in the first game of a doubleheader. Rick Vanden Hurk took a no-hitter into the seventh inning and the Marlins defeated Atlanta to take the second game.

Pirates 7, Nationals 6: At Washington, Xavier Nady hit a double and a sacrifice fly, both with the bases loaded, and Shawn Chacon got his first win as a starter this season as Pittsburgh beat the Nationals.

Phillies 4, Mets 2 (11): At New York, Chase Utley hit a leadoff homer in the 11th inning and drove in three runs, sending Philadelphia to a victory over the Mets.

Brewers 7, Cubs 5: At Milwaukee, Ryan Braun, Corey Hart and Tony Graffanino each hit solo home runs and the Brewers beat Chicago. Claudio Vargas gave up three runs and seven hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Cardinals 4, Reds 3: At St. Louis, pinch hitter So Taguchi singled over a drawn-in outfield in the ninth inning for his second straight game-winning hit, giving the Cardinals a victory over Cincinnati.

Padres 1, Dodgers 0: At San Diego, Marcus Giles singled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning and Trevor Hoffman collected another save as the Padres beat Los Angeles.

Astros 4, Rockies 1: At Denver, Lance Berkman drove in two runs and Wandy Rodriguez pitched five strong innings to lead Houston past Colorado.

Diamondbacks 4, Giants 3 (10): At Phoenix, Chris Young homered to left-center with one out in the 10th inning, lifting Arizona over San Francisco.
