Nineteen people are hoping to replace retiring Idaho Supreme Court Justice Gerald Schroeder. The Idaho Judicial Council will nominate between two and four candidates to Gov. Butch Otter, who will make the final decision. The contenders are:
“Bart Davis, an Idaho Falls attorney and Idaho Senate majority leader.
“Myron Gabbert, a McCall private attorney and Adams County prosecutor.
“Michael Gilmore, a deputy attorney general in Boise.
“Ralph Gines, Boise attorney specializing in estate planning law, and a former Republican state lawmaker.
“Joel Horton, 4th District judge in Boise.
“Larry Hunter, Boise attorney and former Idaho State Bar president.
“Warren Jones, Boise attorney.
“Debora Kristensen, Boise attorney and former Idaho State Bar president.
“Lynn Luker, Boise attorney and former Republican state representative.
“Charles Peterson Jr., Boise attorney specializing in criminal law.
“Kevin Satterlee, Boise State University’s general counsel and associate vice president.
“Gardner Skinner Jr., Boise attorney specializing in workers’ compensation, trial and appellate law.
“Marvin Smith, Idaho Falls attorney specializing in hospital, medical malpractice and insurance law.
“Kathryn Sticklen, 4th District judge and vice president of the Idaho District Judges Association.
“Clive Strong, division chief for the Idaho attorney general in Boise.
