Phillies 3, White Sox 0: At Philadelphia, Adam Eaton pitched four-hit ball for seven innings, and Ryan Howard, Pat Burrell and Jimmy Rollins homered to lead the Phillies over Chicago. Eaton pitched out of a pair of jams, made a nifty defensive play to help his cause and won for the fourth time in five starts. Mike Zagurski tossed a perfect eighth and Antonio Alfonseca worked a one-hit ninth for his fifth save.

Giants 4, Blue Jays 3: At San Francisco, Barry Bonds ended his latest home run drought and showed he might be finding his stroke again, moving within eight of Hank Aaron’s career record with a two-run shot during the Giants’ win over Toronto. The Giants ended a 21-inning scoreless stretch on Ryan Klesko’s RBI groundout in the first, then Klesko led off the fourth with a single before Bonds homered.San Francisco’s Matt Morris recovered from a shaky start and pitched a seven-hitter for his 23rd career complete game.
