ILikeTotallyLoveIt.com targets shoppers
Web popularity contests have taken hold.
The tech-set uses Digg.com to track interest in stories voted on by viewers. Popularity rises and falls based on how many users “dig” that news item.
ILikeTotallyLoveIt.com is a trendy spin-off of that model, adapted to the shopping mindset.
Users find assorted cool things on different shopping sites, then they post links to those items at ILikeTotallyLoveIt. Those items that get the most links show up at the top of the Web site’s main page.
As with many such sites, the lineup is changing constantly, showing the number of links each item has received, along with descriptions and quick links to the person who submitted it most recently.
What good is that? For many people, there’s little value in such rankings. On the other hand, when you’re researching some new product, running a search on it on this site would probably give you some insight into how others perceive it.
