Region: Midwest

Coach: Gregg Marshall

Record: 29-4

Season leading scorer: Guard Michael Jenkins, 15 ppg

Friday’s leading scorer: Center Craig Bradshaw, 24 points

Season leading rebounder: Bradshaw, 6.3 rpg

Friday’s leading rebounder: Guard Torrell Martin, 11 rebounds

Keys to victory:

1. Get the ball in Bradshaw’s hands. The 6-foot-10 center is on fire and gives Winthrop a size advantage. He had a career-high 10 field goals, including two from beyond the arc, against Notre Dame and has a more impressive resume than any other player on the floor.

2. Slow the game down. It may not necessarily be the Eagles’ style, but it took the Ducks out of their game when Miami (Ohio) controlled the pace in the first round. The Ducks love to run up and down the court, and Winthrop will need to set its pace.

3. Stop Aaron Brooks. This will be true for any Ducks opponent. Brooks is always a threat.

Region: Midwest

Coach: Ernie Kent

Record: 27-7

Season leading scorer: Guard Aaron Brooks, 17.6 ppg

Friday’s leading scorer: Brooks, 18 points

Season leading rebounder: Center Maarty Leunen, 8.4 rpg

Friday’s leading rebounder: Leunen, 7 rebounds

Keys to victory

1. Minimize Winthrop’s possessions. The Eagles, mainly Craig Bradshaw, proved they can run up the score quickly in the first round. The Ducks can’t give Winthrop too many opportunities.

2. Challenge Bradshaw. The Ducks have to stop this guy, who gives the Eagles a little bit of a size advantage inside. He has the potential to do a lot of damage on offense and on the boards, which could give Oregon a lot of trouble.

3. Play Oregon basketball. If the Ducks are on their game, they will win. But they will have to set the tempo, which they didn’t accomplish against Miami (Ohio). The Ducks need to take control early.
