Man shot during burglary at his home

From Staff Reports The Spokesman-Review

A 28-year-old man was shot Friday night after two burglars invaded his north Spokane home, police said.

Police detained one man as a person of interest in the crime, said Spokane police spokesman Cpl. Tom Lee.

Another man was still on the loose, and police were searching a North Side neighborhood for him Friday night, Lee said.

The victim told police that two men broke into his home in the 5800 block of North Forest Boulevard about 7 p.m. One of the men shot the victim in the torso. The man then ran to a neighbor’s home for help, Lee said.

The man was treated and released from a Spokane hospital.
