Locally: Krantz, Sternod end year on perfect note

The Spokesman-Review

It was a perfect ending to a stellar season on the last night of the Michelob Tigress Scratch women’s bowling league at Players & Spectators on April 25.

There were two 300 games, and not even the second of those could produce a league title.

Kim Sternod, who has multiple perfect games in recent years, put together her first of the 2006-07 season in the final game of a four-game block in the rolloff for the league championship.

But it wasn’t enough as Sneva’s Auto edged Sternod and her Oh No teammates by one point for the championship. Sternod averaged 227 for the night and 204 for the season.

Earlier in the evening, Karen Krantz rolled her second 300 of the season for the Players & Spectators team. Krantz averaged 200 for the season.

“In my 26 years as league secretary, I’ve never seen that,” Babe Wehr said of two 300s on the same night in the high-powered women’s scratch league.
