Haley Larsen had 24 kills and 21 digs and Kelsey James dished out 38 assists to lead the Idaho volleyball team to a 25-30, 26-30, 31-29, 30-27, 15-10 win over Louisiana Tech Thursday in a Western Athletic Conference match in Moscow, Idaho.

Kelsey Yonker added 21 digs for the Vandals, who improved to 10-13 and 6-6 in conference play while the Lady Techsters fell to 6-21, 1-13.

“Margie Giordano had 16 kills to lead Arizona State to a 30-22, 28-30, 30-22, 31-29 Pac-10 win over Washington State at Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe, Ariz.

Jackie Albright had 19 kills and 15 digs to lead the Cougars, who fell to 9-16 and 0-11 in conference play while the Sun Devils improved to 14-11, 6-6.

“Hayley Hills had 20 kills and Chenoa Coviare added 12 to guide Eastern Washington to a 30-25, 30-28, 30-22 win over Northern Arizona in a Big Sky Conference match in Flagstaff, Ariz.

EWU improved to 11-13 and 11-2 in the BSC while the Lumberjacks fell to 10-12, 5-7.

“Stevie Mussie had 20 kills to lead No. 4 Washington (21-1, 10-1) to a 30-28, 30-18, 30-20 Pac-10 win over Arizona (12-12, 2-10) in Tucson, Ariz.

Women’s soccer

Whitney Ramsey and Penelope Crowe scored second-half goals to guide Whitworth to a 3-1 Northwest Conference win over Lewis & Clark in Portland.

The Pirates’ Lindsey Oakes tied the match at 1 heading into halftime with a goal in the 30th minute after Sarah Kieffer’s goal in the 16th minute gave the Pioneers a 1-0 advantage.

Whitworth improved to 16-2 and 13-2 in the NWC. Lewis & Clark fell to 2-13-2, 2-12-1.

Women’s golf

Eastern Washington freshman Kristina Gargaro was named Big Sky Conference Golfer of the Week after her play at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown that ended Wednesday.

Gargaro tied for 31st with a 224 in a tournament that included 10 of the top 30 teams in the country. EWU placed 16th.
