Chiefs win at Seattle, division lead up to 3

SEATTLE – Chris Bruton scored twice to lead the Spokane Chiefs to a 5-3 win over the Seattle Thunderbirds in Western Hockey League action Sunday.

Mitch Wahl and Drayson Bowman each had a goal and three assists for Spokane, while Stefan Ulmer also scored.

Lindsay Nielsen and Jim O’Brien replied for Seattle.

Dustin Tokarski made 13 saves for the Chiefs (13-2-1-2) while Riku Helenius stopped 35 shots for the Thunderbirds (7-5-2-1).

The Chiefs continue to lead the Western Conference U.S. Division with 29 points, three points ahead of the Tri-City Americans.

Spokane opens a six-game homestand Friday when it hosts Kamloops.
