Area roundup : Weather prevents NIC game
The North Idaho College women’s basketball home game scheduled for Tuesday against the University of Great Falls (Mont.) junior varsity was postponed because of weather.
A snow storm prevented the team from traveling. The game has been rescheduled for Dec. 4.
NIC (2-1) will play host to Casper College (5-3) of Casper, Wyo., this afternoon at 1. Casper edged NIC 60-58 in overtime Nov. 3 at Casper.
The teams will play a third time when the NIC men and women play host to the third annual Pepsi Cardinal Classic Friday and Saturday at Rolly Williams Court.
In women’s games Friday, Williston State College (4-1) of Williston, N.D., faces Community Colleges of Spokane (1-0) at 2 p.m. and NIC takes on Casper College at 6. In men’s action, Treasure Valley (0-0) of Ontario, Ore., meets Williston State (5-3) at 4 and NIC (2-0) goes against Salish Kootenai of Pablo, Mont., at 8. NIC beat the Montana school 104-58 earlier this month.
In women’s games Saturday, CCS plays Casper at 2 p.m. and NIC meets Williston at 6. In men’s games, Treasure and Salish play at 4 and NIC faces Williston at 8.
Women’s basketball
Mandy Troutt had 17 points and six rebounds to lead Lewis-Clark State (5-2) to a 93-51 non-conference win over host Whitworth (1-2).
Girls basketball
Katie Baker had a game-high 22 points and nine rebounds to guide Lake City (3-0, 1-0) to a 57-51 win over Post Falls (2-1, 2-1) in an Inland Empire League game in Coeur d’Alene.
“Shaina Gustafson scored 13 points and Bailey Hewitt added 12 to lead Clark Fork (3-0, 1-0) to a 47-34 North Star League win over host Wallace (0-4, 0-1).
“Bonners Ferry (2-1) defeated Lakeland (0-2) 47-41 in a non-league game in Bonners Ferry.
