Pac-10 picks
THIS WEEK’S PAC-10 PICKS:
Last season UCLA traveled to South Bend and dominated Notre Dame – for 59 minutes. It was that last minute that hurt.
The Irish went 80 yards in three plays to rally for a 20-17 victory.
The loss has stuck in the craw of the Bruins for a year. Now they get their chance to avenge the defeat in the Rose Bowl. The Irish don’t have Brady Quinn this time, or any wins for that matter.
They won’t have one after Saturday, either.
As always, the spreads are for entertainment purposes only.
Notre Dame at UCLA (UCLA by 20 1/2): The last time the Irish played in the Rose Bowl, the Four Horsemen were still riding – and Notre Dame won once in a while. UCLA 27-14.
Arizona at Oregon State (Oregon State by 4): If the Beavers hold on to the ball, they have a shot. If not, Arizona will have a two-game winning streak. Arizona 34-31
Stanford at USC (USC by 38 1/2): Harbaugh pops off. Strike one. USC struggles last week. Strike two. Stanford loses its quarterback. Strike three. USC 45-3.
Arizona State at Washington State (ASU by 8 1/2): The Sun Devils need just two wins to be bowl eligible. The Cougars just need a win. Arizona State 42-35.
Last week: 2-3 overall, 3-2 vs. spread; Season: 27-10 overall, 15-20 vs. spread.
