Mets 11, Reds 7: At Cincinnati, Paul Lo Duca hit a pair of three-run homers and drove in a career-high seven runs, leading New York past the Reds. Shawn Green and Carlos Delgado each had three hits for the Mets.

Brewers 5, Astros 3: At Milwaukee, rookie Ryan Braun homered and Francisco Cordero set a franchise record with his 40th save, as the Brewers got the victory over Houston.

Phillies 5, Braves 2: At Atlanta, Ryan Howard hit his 37th homer and Kyle Lohse quieted the Braves’ offense to help Philadelphia end a three-game losing streak with a victory over Atlanta.

Nationals 4, Marlins 3: At Washington, Jesus Flores’ two-run, ninth-inning double gave the Nationals a win over Florida and spoiled Dontrelle Willis’ opportunity to win just his second game in 18 starts.

Cardinals 6, Pirates 2: At St. Louis, Chris Duncan hit a three-run double to back Joel Pineiro and the Cardinals got the victory over Pittsburgh.

Dodgers 6, Cubs 2: At Chicago, Brad Penny earned his 15th win, allowing seven hits and two runs in seven innings as Los Angeles spoiled Steve Trachsel’s return to the Cubs, beating Chicago.

Rockies 6, Giants 5: At Denver, Brad Hawpe singled in the game-winning run with one out in the ninth inning to lift Colorado to a victory over San Francisco.

Diamondbacks 9, Padres 1: At Phoenix, Tony Clark and Eric Byrnes homered as Arizona got the victory over San Diego to pull within .001 percentage points of the division-leading Padres.
