Prep Roundup: O’Kelley guides Bantams to win

The play of Clarkston running back Brian O’Kelley made all the difference for the Bantams in their win over Lewiston on Friday.

O’Kelley ran for 216 yards on 23 carries and scored four total touchdowns in Clarkston’s 34-21 win over the host Bengals.

O’Kelley scored three times on the ground and added a 20-yard touchdown catch from quarterback Isaac Woodbury to put Clarkston up 13-7 at the half.

The Bantams put the game away in the second half, outscoring Lewiston 21-14.

In other non-league action, West Valley senior quarterback Bryan Peterson completed 13 of 23 passes for 305 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Eagles to a 26-13 win over visiting Lethbridge, Alberta. Peterson also had a 2-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to put West Valley (1-1) ahead 6-0. … Josh Eldred rushed for 101 yards on 15 carries and scored on a 1-yard run in the second quarter as Reardan (1-0) blanked visiting Columbia (Burbank) 14-0. Derick Van Sickle also scored in the second on a 6-yard pass from quarterback Adam Collins.

Isaiah Grant ran for 154 yards and scored Lind-Ritzville’s first touchdown on a 14-yard run in the second quarter and the Broncos held on for a 13-7 win at Kittitas. … Cheney (2-0) built a 14-0 halftime lead and cruised to a 24-6 win over visiting Cashmere. Cashmere scored its touchdown with 9 seconds remaining. … Josh Boleck ran for 179 yards on 11 carries and scored two touchdowns, leading Liberty to a 61-16 rout of host Manson.
