Micah Lines had a team-high 16 kills and Kolbie Murphy and Chelsea Bair added 15 apiece as Weber State (4-4, 1-0) beat Eastern Washington 30-27, 27-30, 32-30, 31-29 Thursday in the Eagles’ home opener and both teams’ first Big Sky Conference volleyball match of the season.

Mandy Daniels had a match-high 29 digs and Hayley Hills added a match-high 19 kills to lead the Eagles (1-9, 0-1).

“Community Colleges of Spokane opened the Scottsdale Classic Tournament in Scottsdale, Ariz., with a 30-22, 29-31, 15-3 loss to Gilbert-Chandler College before beating Southwestern College 30-19, 30-27.

Ashlee Lupfer led CCS (12-2) with eight aces and Meghan De La Rosa added seven digs in the win over Southwestern.

Golf

Alex Prugh (University of Washington/Ferris High) is in an eight-way tie for first place in the Oregon Classic, a Nationwide Tour event, after firing a 66 at Shadow Hills Country Club in Junction City, Ore.

Prugh had eight birdies in his round, including one on the 18th after having bogeyed the previous two holes.
