Eneroth wins golf tourney

Washington State University junior Amy Eneroth won the Regional Preview at the Lincoln Hills Golf Club on Tuesday in Lincoln, Calif., by shooting the only under-par score of the tournament to lead the Cougars to a sixth-place finish.

Eneroth, a 2005 graduate of Mead High School, fired a 1-under 215, good for the lowest three-round total of her career. Her second-round 68 was the lowest score of the tournament and her career.

Chelsey Lollar led Eastern Washington to a tie for eighth place with a 4-over 220. Idaho finished 17th.

Football

Sergio Gilliam won the arenafootball2 defensive player of the week award after tying the Spokane Shock single-game record for most interceptions in a game with three as he helped lead the Shock to a 64-48 road victory over Green Bay. He is the first Shock player to win the award in his debut.

Men’s basketball

Washington State University senior Kyle Weaver was named an honorable mention All-American by CollegeHoops.net.

Weaver was second on his team in scoring with 12.2 points per game and led WSU in steals with 60 and free throws made with 126. He was also No. 2 on the team in rebounding and assists, with 184 and 151, respectively. He finished his WSU career as second all time in assists and third in steals and minutes played.

Softball

The visiting Blue Mountain Timberwolves (12-5, 6-2) won both games of a NWAACC doubleheader with the Community Colleges of Spokane Sasquatch (8-10, 2-4), 7-4 and 2-0.

Amanda Fields had a big day for the Timberwolves, recording five hits including four with a home run in the first game. Rebecca Franke added three hits on the day.

Ashley Fargher, a 2007 University High School graduate, was a bright spot for CCS as she collected three hits on the day.
