The Eastern Washington women’s golf team took third (317) in the Big Sky Conference preview Thursday at Foothills Golf Club in Phoenix.

Three Eagles, Marli Mikulecky, Kellie Holmstedt and Chloe Nelson, finished in a sixth-place tie at 79.

College track and field

Washington State’s Kyle Schauble is in second place in the decathlon while Angela Jensen is in fourth place in the heptathlon after the first day of the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invite at UCLA.

Four other Cougar athletes participated, including Phil MacArthur who finished third in the men’s hammer toss (195-6).
