Indians beat T-C

Magic number to clinch down to five

PASCO – Jared Bolden and Jacob Kaase each tripled, combining for five hits and four runs scored, and the Spokane Indians decreased their magic number to win the Northwest League’s East Division to five with an 8-1 victory over the Tri-City Dust Devils Monday night.

Second-place Boise (38-28) remained five games behind the Indians (44-23) with a 3-1 win at Yakima on Monday.

Any combination of Spokane wins and/or Boise losses totaling five will give Spokane the division title.

Martin Perez (1-1) threw five shutout innings to start the game, and Ryan Schlecht finished with 2 2/3 scoreless innings to earn his fourth save.

The Indians and Dust Devils (34-33) begin a three-game series in Spokane tonight before the Indians finish with six-straight against Boise – three in Boise followed by three at Avista Stadium.
