LC sends East Valley to first loss

Hayley Hendrickson scored 10 points and Sarah Kliewer had eight points and nine rebounds to lead the Lewis and Clark Tigers past the East Valley Knights 61-32 in a Greater Spokane League basketball game Friday night at Lewis and Clark.

Alicia Christiansen scored 10 points to pace East Valley (3-1, 3-1), which hit only 9 of 23 free throw attempts.

The Tigers (4-0, 4-0) led 12-5 after one quarter and extended their lead to 35-17 at the half and 47-20 after three quarters.

Mead 55, Mt. Spokane 36: Jazmine Redmon scored 17 points and had nine rebounds and five steals to lead the Panthers (4-0, 4-0) past the Wildcats (0-3, 0-3) at Mt. Spokane.

Taylor Ingebritsen added 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists for Mead, which outscored Mt. Spokane 35-13 in the middle two quarters.

Taryn Russell scored 10 points to lead the Wildcats.

Mead forced 29 Mt. Spokane turnovers and enjoyed a 41-22 edge on the glass.

Central Valley 68, Rogers 17: Katie Estey led three Bears (2-1, 2-1) in double figures with 13 points in a victory over the Pirates (0-4, 0-4) at Rogers.

Brittany Catron added 12 points and Brooke Gallaway 10 for Central Valley, which collected 25 offensive rebounds and held Rogers to single-digit scoring in three of four quarters.

The Bears led 35-3 at halftime.

Samantha Roybal led the Pirates with five points.

University 55, North Central 47: Zoe Scott had 19 points, eight rebounds and three steals and the Titans (2-2, 2-2) claimed a victory over the Indians (0-3, 0-3) at University.

Chenise Pakootas added 15 points, six rebounds and five steals for University, which made 17 of 32 free throws. North Central had only 17 free throw attempts, making 10.

Savannah Kolterman had 14 points to lead the Indians. Hilary Harris added 13 off the bench, while Brigid VanWeerdhuizen had eight points and 17 rebounds.

Shadle Park 61, Ferris 31: Bianca Pope led a balanced scoring attack with 12 points and also had four steals to give the Highlanders (3-1, 3-1) a win over the Saxons (0-4, 0-4) at Shadle Park.

Four other Shadle Park players had eight or more points, including Kendra Knutsen with eight points, seven assists and four steals.

The Highlanders held the Saxons to single-digit scoring in three of four quarters and led 33-12 at halftime.

Hailey Dahlstrom led Ferris with 10 points. Ashley Lockmer contributed nine.
