Associated Press

Reserve Michael Roll scored 12 points, hitting four of UCLA’s season-high 11 3-pointers, and the 14th-ranked Bruins routed winless Loyola Marymount 75-44 on Wednesday night.

Darren Collison added 11 points for the Bruins (7-2), who have won three straight since a four-point loss at Texas on Dec. 4.

LaRon Armstead scored a career-high 18 points for the Lions (0-11), off to their worst start since 1979-80 when they lost their first 20 games.

The Bruins were favored by 30 1/2 points against a team that is without first-year coach Bill Bayno and has just seven scholarship players, including three freshmen starters. Bayno is taking a leave of absence because of what he said is “a serious medical condition” related to job stress.

(3) Pittsburgh 79, Siena 66: DeJuan Blair had 21 points and 16 rebounds and Sam Young and Tyrell Biggs scored 14 points each for the Panthers (11-0) in a win over the Saints (5-4).

(6) Duke 99, North Carolina-Asheville 56: Gerald Henderson and Kyle Singler both scored 14 points after being benched at the start of the Blue Devils’ rout of the Bulldogs (4-6) in Durham, N.C. Jon Scheyer added 13 points for the Blue Devils (9-1), who juggled the lineup after they were upset 11 days earlier at Michigan.

Coach Mike Krzyzewski benched his regular starting lineup in favor of five players who had combined to make one start this season.

(11) Syracuse 82, Canisius 60: Rick Jackson scored a career-high 14 points and Paul Harris added 13 points and 11 rebounds for the host Orange (10-1), who rebounded from their first loss of the season to down the Golden Griffins (3-7).

Saint Mary’s 78, Oregon 73: Patrick Mills heated up in the final minutes and finished with 22 points, leading the Gaels (8-1) over the host Ducks (4-6) at Eugene, Ore.
