St. George’s, NWC regional bound

St. George’s and Northwest Christian advanced to the regional tournament with District 7 2B victories Thursday at Spokane Falls Community College.

Chessey Thomas scored 16 of her 18 points in the second half to lead St. George’s to a 41-32 victory over Lind-Ritzville. Danielle Sackman scored nine points to lead the Broncos (17-4).

Hayley Hendrickson poured in 31 points and Taryn Russel chipped in 16 to lead NWC to a 68-48 win over Springdale.

Shelbea Rainbolt scored 19 and Holly Howard 10 for the Chargers ((16-6).

The girls games scheduled at Spokane Community College – Selkirk vs. Reardan and Wilbur-Creston vs. Liberty – have been postponed until tonight at SFCC (4:30 and 7:30, respectively).

The Selkirk-Reardan winner will face Springdale on Saturday at 12:45 p.m. at SFCC, while the Wilbur-Creston/Liberty winner plays Lind-Ritzville at 4. Both games will be winner to regional, loser out. St. George’s (20-2) and NWC (18-3) will cap Saturday’s schedule at 7:15 to decide the first and second seeds into regionals.

•Amanda Seeling scored 19 points and the Kellogg Wildcats (17-2) earned their second consecutive Idaho 3A District I championship and state berth with a 49-40 win over the Bonners Ferry Badgers (10-12) at Lakeland High School in Rathdrum. Bonners Ferry will play the winner of the unreported St. Maries-Priest River game Saturday for the other state berth.

•Karla Koller had 10 points, 11 rebounds, five steals and four assists to lead the LaCrosse-Washtucna Tigercats (12-9) to a 42-38 win over the Rosalia Spartans (11-10) in the Whitman County League playoffs at Endicott. The day’s other game, Sprague-Harrington vs. St. John-Endicott, was postponed to today at 8 p.m. The winner will play L-W at 2 p.m. Saturday for the fourth and fifth berths to district. Rosalia was eliminated.

•The Cheney-Medical Lake Great Northern League game at Medical Lake was postponed until Feb. 19.
