David Suhr has been hired by David Evans and Associates Inc. as a senior transportation engineer. He previously worked for the Idaho Transportation Department as a staff engineer and has more than 22 years of experience in the construction industry.

Seasons at Sandpoint has hired Edward Durkee as a sales manager. He has eight years’ experience in the hospitality and luxury resort condominium arena and previously worked as director of sales for the Miners Club in Park City, Utah.

Cheri Catt has been hired as vice president and commercial relationship manager for Sterling Savings Spokane Valley Commercial Banking Office. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Washington University and is a graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School.

PROMOTIONS Numerica Credit Union has promoted Petra Wilkinson to manager of the Lyons branch. She previously worked as manager for the company’s Five Mile branch.

Lara Hemingway has been promoted to principal at Witherspoon, Kelley, Davenport and Toole. She holds Doctor of Laws and Master of Laws degrees from the University of Washington School of Law.

Renae Allen has been promoted to business development representative for Global Credit Union. She previously worked as a member service representative and has been with the company for 10 years.

Sterling Savings Bank has promoted Mark Butera to assistant vice president. He previously worked at the commercial banking office in Coeur d’Alene and has been with the company for more than three years.

Cindy Wagner has been promoted to human resource specialist for Global Credit Union. She previously worked as a payroll clerk and has been with the company 10 years.

Numerica Credit Union has promoted Anthony Moore to manager of the South Hill Branch. He previously worked as assistant manager for the company’s Lyons branch.

David Strasser has been promoted to director of Food and Nutrition Services for Holy Family Hospital. He previously worked as the executive chef manager and has been with the organization 15 years. KUDOS Larry Hagel has completed an Occupational Safety and Health Administration trainer course and is authorized to conduct OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour general industry outreach training. He works as an industrial hygienist for Kyron Environmental.

GIFTS The Safeco Insurance Foundation has awarded the YMCA of the Inland Northwest and the YWCA of Spokane a $100,000 grant to support the organizations’ joint “Your Y” campaign.

Spokane Valley Fire Department has received $10,000 from the Honeywell electronic materials plant to purchase equipment for fire extinguisher training.

APPOINTED Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery has appointed the following to the Board of Trustees: Mike Semerad, of Alderwood Landscaping, Dr. Sandra Horning, of Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital, and Mike Patrick of BDO Seidman, LLP.

John Richards has been appointed to the board of trustees for Spokane United Methodist Homes, doing business as Rockwood Retirement Communities. He recently retired as senior lending officer/vice president of private banking with U.S. Bank.

The Northwest Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Washington chapter has appointed Heidi Jibby as a state representative. She works as program manager for St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute.

The mayor of Spokane and the chairman of the Board of Commissioners of Spokane County have appointed the following to three-year terms on the Spokane Area Workforce Development Council: Jeff Benesch, director of Driver Services and Personnel for Trans-System Inc.; Donna Dalzell, supervisor for the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation; and Beth Thew, secretary-treasurer for the Spokane Regional Labor Council.

Brian Dunham has been appointed to the board of directors for Avista Corp. He is president and chief executive officer of Northwest Pipe Co.

ELECTED The Spokane Association of Realtors has elected Marianne Guenther as a board director for a two-year term. She works as a Realtor for Windermere Manito Real Estate.

Jennifer Polello has been elected as Region 1 co-vice president for the Washington State Board of Public Health. She works as a manager for Community Health Education Resources.
