Second-seeded Locke comes through at key time at JBT

The Spokesman-Review

The third time proved a charm for Thomas Locke in the Junior Bowlers Tour stop at Lilac Lanes last Sunday.

Jacob Nichols defeated Locke twice during qualifying matches en route to capturing the No. 1 seed into the five-player finals. But Locke, who qualified No. 2, found his shot when he needed it and defeated Nichols 190-182 to claim the championship.

Todd Benner finished third, Chris Gray was fourth and Nick Schmehl fifth.

Nichols had high game of the day, a 246. Lindsey Benner, who made the cut for the first time, was high for the girls with a 189.

The next JBT is Jan. 20 at Players & Spectators.
