Following competition in the FILA Junior and University World Team Trials, University’s Brian Owen will compete in the Junior Pan American games later this month in Equador, according to his dad, John.

John Owen said that Brian, a two-time Titan state champion and four time finalist, was chosen for both freestyle and Greco-Roman.

Owen placed second in the challenge tournament at 60 kilograms (132 pounds) in Greco during the FILA trials in Colorado Springs May 23 and 24. He was third in the challenge tournament at the same weight in freestyle.

“It worked out because he is a multi-tasker,” said John Owen of his son’s selection to the United States team.
