T.J. Duckett is heading to play for the Seattle Seahawks with a five-year contract, the free-agent running back told the Associated Press on Tuesday.

He previously played for the Washington Redskins and the Atlanta Falcons, who selected him 18th overall in the 2002 draft after running for 3,379 yards at Michigan State.
The Seahawks also signed tight end Jeb Putzier to a one-year contract. The former Boise State player caught six passes with the Houston Texans last season.
Mike DeBord was hired as a new offensive assistant. He spent the last two years as offensive coordinator at Michigan under Lloyd Carr.

Spokane adventurer leaps off Hood
Matthias Giraud, 24, a French-born extreme skier and BASE jumper from Spokane, was flying high on Mount Hood Thursday by skiing off the 250-foot cliff called Mississippi Head and then gently touching down on the snowfield below with the aid of a parachute.
Giraud climbed high up the mountain, pointed his skis downhill hitting about 40 mph before launching off the cliff at the 7,160-foot level on the south face of the 11,237-foot mountain. Giraud told reporters he’s the first to make the leap.
