Pac-10 needs new refs
What an exciting year it’s been for the Cougars of Washington State.
However, after watching many games that have come down to a few points and watching the Cougars lose on a few points that were decided by the refs, it is disheartening. How can it be that one team has seven fouls and the other zero fouls when a quarter of the game has been played?
I have been a ref in many games and know the value of calling a fair game and the reward of knowing you have done the best job possible to allow the teams a fair chance of winning. The refereeing in the Pac-10 has been less than optimal. We need a new set of refs who can call a fair game, act in an ethical manner, not allow personal bias to affect their job.
As a nursing student, if I allowed my personal bias to affect my job, one patient would get all my care and the other would get none and we all know how unethical that would be. So why is it not the same for the refs of the Pac-10?
