How to download more items at once

The Spokesman-Review

How do I … allow more than two downloads at a time with Internet Explorer?

On Windows XP, your Internet Explorer browser lets you only download two files at a time. Here are the steps to change that setting to download up to 10 at a time.

First, go to Start, then Run. Enter regedit and click enter. You’re now using the Registry Editor, so be careful. As a rule, you should back up your registry so that any mistakes you make later can be reversed. In the editor on the left side pane, with My Computer highlighted, click File, then Export. Make sure to export “all” your registry to a single file on your computer. Then go to HKEY_CURRENT_ USER\Software\Microsoft\ Windows\Current Version\Internet Settings. On that tab, right click and choose NEW. Create a new DWORD value.

Tab to the right pane, and rename the DWORD value MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server. Edit the value data to 10. Close.

Create another DWORD value and name it MaxConnectionsPerServer. Again assign it a value of 10. Close the Registry Editor.
