Pullman cements league title

The Pullman Greyhounds emphatically clinched the Great Northern League championship on Thursday night.

The Greyhounds jumped out to a big first-half lead and cruised past the Riverside Rams 39-0 at Pullman to finish the GNL regular season with a 6-1 record (8-2 overall).

Riverside finished its season at 2-8, 0-7.

Colville 20, Deer Park 14 (OT): The Indians did their part with the victory but needed a loss by Pullman to win the GNL title. Colville had beaten Pullman 21-20 on Sept. 26 and held the tiebreaker.

Dustin Divis caught a 3-yard pass from Sawyer Bardwell with no time left in regulation and Jordan Anderson converted the PAT to tie the score at 20.

Divis then scored the winner from 3 yards out in overtime to deliver the victory for Colville (7-3, 5-2).

Colby Mattausch caught a touchdown pass from Alex Wolf in the first quarter but missed three field goals in regulation.

Wolf also ran for a first-quarter score that gave the Stags (7-3, 4-3) a 14-0 lead.

West Valley 14, Cheney 0: At Cheney, Drew Clausen threw two touchdown passes – one to Kingston Simon and one to Jordan Lupfer – and completed 10 of 16 passes for 155 yards as the Eagles (7-3, 4-3) upended the Blackhawks (6-4, 4-3).

West Valley held a 357-146 yard advantage in total offense.

Brian Haffner led West Valley with 112 yards on 20 carries.

Clarkston 42, Medical Lake 0: At Medical Lake, Zack Meyers scored four touchdowns – three by runs and an 82-yard kickoff return – to give the Bantams (4-6, 4-3) a victory over the Cardinals (1-8, 1-6).

Non-league

Lewis and Clark 33, Kamiakin 7: Taylor Eglet and Vaughn Kapiko combined for three touchdowns and a two-point conversion to lead the Tigers (7-3) past the Braves (4-6) in a crossover game at Albi Stadium.

Eglet and Levi Taylor also had touchdown runs as the Tigers jumped out to a 27-0 halftime lead.

Eglet and Kapiko hooked up in the third quarter for the third time before the Braves got a Corey Hutchinson-to-Cody Orth touchdown to close out the scoring in the fourth quarter.
