3 area teams in semis

A change in classification made no difference to the Colfax Bulldogs. The four-time defending State 1A champion Bulldogs didn’t lose a game in beating Shoreline Christian and Toutle Lake to advance to the State 2B semifinals at the Yakima SunDome on Thursday.

They were joined in the semifinals by a pair of defending state champs in La Conner and Tekoa-Oakesdale. Davenport earned the fourth semifinal berth with sweeps over South Bend and Riverside Christian.

La Conner, trying to defend its 2B crown, beat Pomeroy 3-1 and Mossyrock 3-0. Tekoa-Oakesdale, last year’s 1B champion, swept Wahkiakum and Darrington. Tekoa-Oakesdale will meet Colfax in today’s semis. La Conner will face Davenport.
