Grading the cougars: C-

Quarterback: D

The road got to Lobbestael and he struggled, missing his targets by wide margins at times.

Running backs: C

The holes were there off and on, but the cuts were not. There were missed chances for long runs.

Receivers: B

Not only did Gibson have his usual effort, but Anderson stepped up and was a deep threat.

Offensive line: C-

With so many injuries and guys playing different positions, overall effort was there.

Defensive line: C

They did an excellent job stuffing the run, but pass rush was nonexistent.

Linebackers: B

The group had five tackles for loss, though they weren’t able to get to the QB when they blitzed.

Defensive backs: C-

The run support was admirable, but without a pass rush UCLA receivers had too much time to run free.

Coaching: C-

The defense came to play, but the Bruins flummoxed WSU’s Lobbestael.

Special teams: C+

Kickoff returns excelled once again and Forrest pinned UCLA down often.
