Walla Walla outlasts CCS

Jenna Kragt (Lind-Ritzville High) and Amanda Grumbach (Curlew) combined for 35 kills Wednesday to lead East Division-leading Walla Walla CC (18-7, 7-1) to a 29-31, 25-20, 18-25, 25-17, 18-16 NWAACC volleyball win over visiting Community Colleges of Spokane.

Nicole Solum (Mead) and Brynn DeLong (Shadle Park) of the Sasquatch (19-17, 5-5) combined for 32 kills, 34 digs and 12 blocks.

Nicole Graybeal (North Central) added 11 kills and 10 blocks for CCS, and Lisa Steinbach (Post Falls) had 10 kills and 11 blocks.

Women’s golf

Eastern Washington University placed 16th of 17 teams at the Price’s Give ’Em Five tournament at the New Mexico State University Golf Course in Las Cruces.

The Eagles shot 956 for three rounds. Chloe Nelson led EWU, tying for 22nd place at 12-over-par 228.

Medalist Jane Chin (212) led UC Irvine (881) to the team title.

Football

The Spokane Shock of arenafootball2 announced the addition of wide receiver Markee White to their roster.

White, 6-foot-7 and 215 pounds, played at Texas State University.
