Lee-Painter honored
University of Idaho senior Allix Lee-Painter has been selected Western Athletic Conference women’s cross country athlete of the week for the third time this season after her performance at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational last weekend.
Lee-Painter finished second in a field of 143 runners with a time of 17 minutes, 27 seconds on the 5-kilometer course. She has finished first or second in three of Idaho’s four meets, and has been the Vandals’ top finisher in every meet this season.
Men’s soccer
Caleb Barnhill of Whitworth was selected the Northwest Conference’s athlete of the week for offense in men’s soccer. Barnhill, a senior forward, had two goals this weekend in a pair of wins over Willamette and Linfield. He leads the NWC with 10 goals.
Football
Whitworth’s Adam Anderson was honored by the Northwest Conference as athlete of the week for offense in football. Anderson, a junior running back, had a career-high 214 yards rushing and a school-record-tying four touchdowns in a 35-7 win over Puget Sound on Saturday. Anderson leads the NWC in rushing yards, all-purpose yards and scoring.
