Silverwood Theme Park in North Idaho will open Saturday. Now in its 22nd season, the attraction north of Coeur d’Alene will be open weekends only in May. Daily operations will begin May 30, and the Boulder Beach water park will open June 6. Silverwood marks the 10th anniversary of Tremors, its wooden roller coaster, this weekend with a discounted price of $19.99 general admission for all ages, saving adults $21. The park has not raised its prices for the new season. The last price increase came last August. Silverwood is the Northwest’s largest theme park, with more than 65 rides and attractions, including four roller coasters, a 1915 steam engine train ride, live entertainment and restaurants. Last year Silverwood added a 191-foot roller coaster named Aftershock. The inverted boomerang-style coaster came from Six Flags Great America near Chicago, where the ride was named Deja Vu. In 2007 the park expanded its water park with new water slides, another wave pool and a splash area for toddlers. Founded in 1987 by Gary Norton, the park is family-owned and operated. For information, go to www.silverwoodthemepark.com or call (208) 684-3400, ext. 167.
