EWU scrimmages today

Eastern Washington University, which is ranked in the top 25 of every major preseason NCAA Football Championship football poll, will hold its final scrimmage of fall camp at 11:30 this morning at Woodward Field.

The scrimmage will mark the end of the Eagles’ second of week of preseason workouts leading up to next Saturday’s season and home opener against Western Oregon, which kicks off at 12:05 p.m.

Eastern is coming off a 6-5 finish in 2008 that included a 5-3 record in the Big Sky Conference. The Eagles return 38 letterwinners – including 15 starters – from last year’s team, which ended the season with a three-game winning streak.
