Joins Questions as to whether Russian goalie Alex Pechursky would join the Tri-City Americans this season have come to an end. Pechursky, drafted 55th overall by the Americans in the 2009 CHL import draft, arrived in the Tri-Cities on Tuesday. Pechursky, a 2008 fifth-round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins, led Russia to a gold medal at the 2007 U-18 World Junior Championship.

Sues Free-agent pitcher Chan Ho Park has sued his former Dodger battery mate Chad Kreuter, accusing him of failing to fully pay off a $460,000 loan. Park filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court, claiming breach of promissory note and negligent misrepresentation.
Fined Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth has been fined $10,000 by the NFL and New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs has been hit for $7,500. The players were fined for an altercation late in New York’s 45-12 victory at Washington.
Suspended Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel confirmed that the team’s top kick returner, Ray Small, and backup defensive lineman Rob Rose would not be making the trip with the Buckeyes to play Oregon. Tressel said both were suspended for an undisclosed violation of team rules.
