Boise St. trips up Idaho
Heather Pilcher made 7 of 11 field goals on her way to a game-high 16 points to lead the visiting Boise State Broncos to a 60-56 victory over the Idaho Vandals in the Western Athletic Conference opener for both teams at Cowan Spectrum.
Shaena Kuehu scored 14 points to lead Idaho (3-9), while Yinka Olorunnife had 13 points and nine rebounds. Derisa Taleni chipped in five assists.
Jamia Malone had 11 points and five assists, Janie Bos 10 points, and Jenna Galassi eight rebounds for Boise State (8-7).
Pacific 66, Whitworth 64 (OT): Erica Schultz hit a jumper in the lane with 2:49 to play in overtime to complete the scoring and the Pacific Boxers held on for an Northwest Conference overtime victory over the Whitworth Pirates at the Whitworth Fieldhouse.
Rochelle Reeves led Pacific (2-8, 1-1) with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Schultz’s two free throws late in regulation sent the game to overtime.
Cassie Pilkinton scored 17 points and Tiffany Corigliano had 10 points and eight rebounds for Whitworth (6-5, 0-2). Leah Pomante handed out four assists.
North Idaho 72, Yavapai 51: The Cardinals (13-2) defeated host Yavapai 72-51 at the Yavapai College Classic in Prescott, Ariz.
