Zags deserve support

Almost everything has been said, regarding advice and strategy, about Gongaza University’s men’s basketball team in the past weeks.

However, what has not been said is this: The Zags, most of the month of December, have been on the road confronted with a tough schedule, including, most important, final exams week.

However, to quote the headline on Jim Meehan’s excellent front-page story (The Spokesman-Review sports section, Jan. 8): “All is right again,” referring to our Zags beating Tennessee on its home court.

As fans, we have to continue to believe, care and support our Zags. They still are a competitive and all-around talented team that has the potential to make the NCAA tournament and succeed there.
