Died The father of former jockey Steve Cauthen, Ronald “Tex” Cauthen, a Hall of Fame farrier whose son was the last jockey to win the Triple Crown, has died in Walton, Ky. He was 77. His son Steve won the Triple Crown aboard Affirmed in 1978.
