Teade sparks Colfax shutout

Alex Teade’s four touchdowns and 305 yards passing lifted undefeated Colfax to a 39-0 victory over Waitsburg-Prescott Saturday in the first round of the State 2B tournament.

Teade connected with Will Hatley and Stetson Steiger for 207 combined yards as the Bulldogs (10-0) made the most of the soggy conditions as snow gave way to mud, churning out 446 yards of offense while holding the Cardinals (9-2) to just 50. The next step for the Bulldogs is to host South Bend, which beat Kittitas 43-29.

State 2A: Sawyer Bardwell threw for 230 yards and two second-half TDs, but Colville (6-5) could not overcome its early deficit, falling to Othello 26-13 in the first round of the state tournament in Othello.

The Huskies (9-2) jumped out to a 19-0 lead by halftime with a pair of TD passes by Jeremy Cerrillo. Colville cut into that lead with Bardwell’s TD pass to Brock Dotts, who also rushed for 116 yards.

Idaho State 1A Division II: Salmon River outscored Kootenai 33-26 in the second half, handing the Warriors (10-1) their first defeat of the season 47-40 in the state semifinals in Salmon River.

Jake Hallscored the Warriors’ last two touchdowns as they put together 20 consecutive points but fell just short.
