Seeing red
Red turf? I don’t think so!
My uncle Cecil, my favorite uncle at that, played with a leather helmet and no pads on a dirt field. When I went to high school, they advanced to the bar across the front of the helmet and no weight rooms.
Now they muscle up and play with pads that make them almost invincible against the weight room monsters coming at them.
Yes, there have been changes in football, and there have been disasters to go with these changes, including red turf.
Boise State’s blue turf makes it difficult to follow the action on TV for me and for others I have talked to in my age bracket.
I am a believer in the adage – if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Eastern Washington’s athletic programs have been broke for years. This will drain millions from the school’s budget. You don’t need to emphasize this red ink with red turf.
