Agreed Closer Brian Wilson and the San Francisco Giants agreed to a $4,437,500, one-year deal Saturday, avoiding an arbitration hearing. The Giants confirmed to the Associated Press the sides settled at the midpoint of what each proposed in arbitration.

Hired Former Washington Redskins head coach Jim Zorn has been hired by the Baltimore Ravens to be their quarterbacks coach. Zorn takes over for Hue Jackson, who left to become offensive coordinator of the Oakland Raiders. Zorn was fired earlier this month by the Redskins after two seasons as their head coach. They were 8-8 in his first year but slumped to 4-12 this season. He was quarterbacks coach with Detroit and Seattle before being hired by the Redskins.

Signed The Anaheim Ducks signed Jonas Hiller to a four-year contract extension, keeping the goaltender off the free-agent market this summer. The deal, which would run through the 2013-14 season, is reportedly valued at $18 million.

Out Former champion Lleyton Hewitt has pulled out of next month’s SAP Open tournament in San Jose, Calif., after undergoing surgery on his right hip. Hewitt told tournament director Bill Rapp he needed to withdraw. He had the operation Thursday and hopes to be back in time to play the French Open.

Sentenced A former San Jose, Calif., swim coach who pleaded no contest to 20 child molestation charges has been sentenced to 40 years in prison. Andrew King, a successful coach who mentored nationally ranked swimmers, showed no emotion Friday as the sentence was handed down in a San Jose court. King, 61, had been a head coach at San Jose Aquatics and a number of swim clubs in the area over the past 40 years.

Died Broadcaster Tom Brookshier, an All-Pro defensive back who played on the Philadelphia Eagles’ 1960 championship team, has died. He was 78. After he retired, Brookshier announced NFL games with Pat Summerall for CBS. He is one of seven Eagles to have his number retired. The Eagles said that Brookshier had cancer and died Friday night. Brookshier had 20 interceptions in seven seasons with the team, earning All-Pro honors in 1959 and 1960.

•A Swedish ice hockey referee has died after being hit in the back of the head by a puck during a junior game in Stockholm. A police spokesman said the 62-year-old man was refereeing an under-18 game in northern Sweden and was struck by the puck when a player tried to lob it into the offensive zone. Police did not name the man, but local media identified him as Roland Hedberg.
