Crew rescues stranded hikers
Three stranded hikers in the Blue Mountains near the Washington-Oregon border were rescued Saturday by a helicopter crew from Fairchild Air Force Base.
The three men had lost their way after a day of hiking and began to suffer dehydration, Air Force officials said. On the third day, two of them were able to climb high enough on a mountain to use their cell phones and call for help.
After the hikers were examined for health issues, they were taken to a Diamond Peak, Wash., trailhead.
