M’s may shut down Bedard
SEATTLE – Looks like another lost year for Erik Bedard with the Mariners.
The left-hander said Wednesday that he likely won’t pitch this season because he still has issues inside his surgically repaired shoulder.
All Mariners manager Don Wakamatsu will say is that doctors found inflammation in Bedard’s shoulder and are trying to determine what to do next.
The 31-year-old hasn’t pitched since July 25, 2009. He had surgery Aug. 14 to repair a torn labrum.
He was set to return to the rotation earlier this month after a successful minor league rehabilitation stint. Then his shoulder began to ache again.
